We come into this world pure, unaware, not knowing what this world is and what to expect. We learn to breathe, to eat, to walk and to communicate. To survive, not to thrive…
An imaginary cage is built around us. At first, for protection, then to blend in, to follow the rules of society. Later on, we carry the cage ourselves, we are used to this comfortable layer that belongs to us. Yet, we desperately seek for concepts like “freedom”, “success” or “achievements.” Freedom… such a state of mind. What is freedom?
My freedom is dancing wildly on a beach at sunrise. Then, jumping in a vineyard in Tuscany, breathing the sweet air and letting my body flow into the wind. Flying off to kiss the lips of the ocean on a beach in Portugal and embracing the rays of light.
It’s liberation, an absence of necessity, but we don’t have the same necessities, do we?
Freedom for me is working from wherever there is a wi-fi connection and moving, always being on the move. Freedom for you may be living in the mountains, on top of an isolated cliff, disconnected from the world.

What is your freedom? What does it look like?
Freedom is booking that flight ticket, regardless the risks. Never looking back, never feeling sorry for the things that you do. Embracing your past and opening up to the future.
The Freedom From Within
There is also a different kind of freedom: the freedom from within. The liberty that you give to yourself to do things, to take risks, accept challenges, meet new people, create and be proud of your work. This is the most precious freedoms of all. This type of freedom has to be found within. You have to look for it and release it.
I always looked for this freedom. I chased it when I was young. I confused it with long nights out, parties, alcohol and drugs. I thought that is freedom. I was wrong…
I chased events and doing as many things as possible. I said “This is freedom!” Wrong again…
I traveled. I started seeing more, learning more, knowing more. This itself is not freedom, but this helps you get to know yourself. Knowing more about the world and others will only help you to learn more about yourself. About your inner world. Likes and dislikes, pleasure and pain.
It’s never about conquering the top of the mountain, but meeting your true self. Your inner child, the one who was born pure. It’s about learning who you really are…
Only then, you will find YOUR FREEDOM.
